Credits and billing
Getting started is free
Signing up, opening the studio, browsing your cast, and starting a series are all free. New accounts start with 100 signup credits, which covers exploring the studio, but not the cheapest cartoon on its own. The shortest, standard-quality option runs 180 credits. Plan on adding credits before your first generation.
What actually spends credits
Credits are spent only when you generate a cartoon or an episode: cartoonifying a photo, writing the story, and animating each scene. The Estimated cost box in the builder shows the exact total before you press Generate: it accounts for your chosen length, resolution, and mode, and the same number is what you're actually charged.
Roughly, at standard quality: a 5-second cartoon (one scene) is the cheapest way to try the studio; 10, 30, and 60 seconds cost more as they add scenes. HD resolution costs about 1.4 times as much per scene as Standard. A series episode always runs 10 seconds at standard quality, so its cost is the same every time.
Your balance and buying more
Your balance shows as a credits pill in the top right of every studio page. Click it to open Purchase Credits.

Crypto (SOL, USDC, or DGH on Solana) is the fastest way to pay; a Direct payment request sends a personal payment link to your email instead if you'd rather not connect a wallet. Card checkout (MoonPay, LemonSqueezy) is marked coming soon. If you're working inside a shared workspace, this screen also lets you transfer credits from your personal balance into that workspace. Credits are shared across every DevGhouse product: credits you buy or transfer here work the same way in any other DevGhouse app.
If your balance is too low for what you're about to generate, the same Add credits shortcut appears right next to the warning, in the builder and on a series page, and opens this same screen without losing what you'd typed.
If a generation fails
If a cartoon or episode fails partway through, credits for any scene that never finished rendering are refunded automatically. You're only ever charged for the work that actually completed, never twice, and never for work that didn't happen.
